Playgrounds: Always a fun place to take a break from #lakelife and allow your little ones to spread their wings, get some of that much needed energy out and provides a small window of breathing room for parents to relax. Bingham Park has baseball, basketball, tennis and even a skate park. Plus, a really cool playground. Located within the park is the Caleb Joseph Regenski Memorial Playground.

Let’s Have a Drink: Love wine and craft beer? Lake Wallenpaupack provides a few great options! Three Hammers Winery is located in Hawley and offers even the most sophisticated palates a place to relax and enjoy a wide variety of quality wines. Not far beyond the charcuterie lives the home of some really amazing craft brews, Wallenpaupack Brewing Company. Inside and outside seating, a large variety of beer, and an equally good kitchen. We highly recommend a stop here.

Entertainment: Interested in being entertained? Join us at the Ritz Company Playhouse for LIVE theater productions. Past shows include “Pinkalicious”, “The Little Mermaid, Jr.” & “The Drowsy Chaperone”. Theater isn’t your thing? Not to worry. The Wildflower Music Festival offers live musical performances during summer weekends in July & August. Each performance is held at the Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary in White Mills, Pa.

Train Rides: All Aboard! Grab a ticket and take a ride on The Stourbridge Line. A very unique experience awaits with train rides in the summer and during special events all throughout the year.

Food: Like most tourist destinations, there is no shortage of restaurants. From casual to fine dining, the lake allows you to explore your taste buds at every price point. The Woodloch Springs Grille is part of a beautiful resort property not far from Lake Wallenpaupack. The Settlers Inn is another really neat place to grab a bite to eat, their lobby is simply beautiful. From there you will enjoy The Boat House which offers you dock access for arriving by boat. Otherwise, try The Dock at Silver Birches, another vintage Lake Wallenpaupack Resort. Glass – Wine.bar.kitchen is another great spot where you can
enjoy small plates and drinks with views of the river gorge falls.

Festivals and Seasonal Fun: Ever seen a fireworks display while sitting out on a lake? The 4th of July Fireworks at Lake Wallenpaupack are beyond words. You need to see them in person to truly experience what it’s like. Click here to learn more. Wally Lake Fest is one giant celebration on land and in the water. Come visit us during late August and you may just happen upon the party, it’s recognized as the biggest event in the Northern Pocono Mountains. Another lovely event is Hawley Winter Fest which is usually in early December. This event offers visitors an opportunity to experience a true community effort. The food, cookies and activities make this a fun winter event for all ages. Want fresh local baked goods and a bunch of activities? Visit Ritters Farm Market. Our favorite time to visit is in the fall, the hard ciders and wine are pretty good but the pumpkin cannon is something to see!

Nature, Sightseeing & Hiking: Either I haven’t been looking in the right places or I’ve just been unlucky but I’ve rarely seen Eagles in the wild. That is, right up until I started visiting Lake Wallenpaupack. I’ve since seen Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles, Osprey and several types of hawks. I’m blown away each and every time, these majestic birds of prey thrive around the lake. Want to visit a few trails, experience the scenery and wildlife that exists around the lake – try Shuman Point Natural Area. Lacawac Santuary is all about education, preservation, and research. Promised Land State Park is on the Pocono Plateau, 1,800 feet above sea level, and is surrounded by 12,464 acres of the Delaware State Forest, including natural areas. Visitors can enjoy: Fishing, boating, rustic cabins, camping, miles of hiking trails, and breathtaking views of forestry.
