Lake Wallenpaupack has it’s secrets and anyone that’s unlocked one or two or maybe even mastered the lake isn’t going to give up their knowledge that easily.
Most will tell you to earn it, go out and work until you figure it out yourself. Not the most friendly of messages but that’s how they most likely learned and that’s what the expectation is.
We’ve learned quite a bit these last few months and we still have a long way to go before we’ve started to figure anything out about this lake.
We’ve trolled at night, all day long and had a few success stories, we’ve used senkos along the banks and have done okay but our biggest success stories around this lake have us using live bait. This past weekend (May 31st – June 2nd) we fished and fished and fished some more. Water Clarity, Wind, Depth, Temp and about 10 other factors we are trying to figure out definitely impact the outcome.
The most fun we had wasn’t catching fish, it was hanging out and catching up with friends, our one friend surprised everyone when he busted out this shirt… I think we almost died laughing, it was hysterical. What an amazing time with friends, we caught over 14 fish between us and missed three other “huge” opportunities to land a lake monster. Oh well, there is always next time I guess.
